"The Popup Sensory Friendly Room provided by MS4A for event was helpful for our audience who needed a break from the movie.  The lighting, audio, and autism-friendly toys provided an alternative to the movie, and this enhanced the family experience at our Sunday matinee."

Why use a Sensory Break Room?
A Sensory Room (formally known as a Quiet, Escape, or Snoezelen Room) is a multi-sensory environment, based on the concept that everyone has a right to quality leisure. Everyone can enjoy a Sensory Room, but it has shown to be particularly useful for children and people with multiple special and behavioral needs.

Sensory Rooms are widely regarded by professionals working with people with autism and related disabilities as a resource to improve the quality of life for people and other limiting conditions. Published reports document accounts of individuals who have stopped self-abusive behavior, of people who have seen, spoken or smiled for the first time in years and of those who have shown unusual peace, happiness and contentment while using a Sensory Room.

Our Sensory Break Room may be with developmental disabilities, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, behavior disorders, ADHD, vision impairments, profound intellectual and physical disabilities as well as those with mental health conditions.
, as a multi-sensory experience or as a single sensory focus, simply by adapting the lighting, atmosphere, sounds, and textures to the needs of the participant at the time of use. Moreover, a multisensory environment offers a highly motivating environment for users to enjoy sensory activities that are meaningful and appropriate, facilitated and shared by a parent/caregiver, therapist, teacher, or support worker.

Who can benefit from our Sensory Break Room?
Children/Adults – with developmental disabilities, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, behavior disorders, ADHD, vision impairments, profound intellectual and physical disabilities as well as those with mental health conditions.
